Just spoke with Eddie of Cathedrals who informed me that both Cathedrals and Bleeding Kansas instrumentals have been recorded for their upcoming 12" split. I'm excited because Cathedrals is "brutal as shit" and Bleeding Kansas took a heavy but "laid back and dynamic" route on this album. If you haven't checked out those two bands, I highly suggest you do. I promise you won't be disappointed; money back guarantee. And don't forget to catch Cathedrals tomorrow at the Pharaoh's Den in Riverside playing alongside Lewd Acts, Pulling Teeth, Skin Like Iron, and 108. ALSO, SUNDAY 4/19 they will be trekking down to Boyle Heights to play at the Blvd. Cafe (where Deadhead recently played with Ceremony), and will be playing with Fed Up, and Final Fight. Gooooooood shows lined up this weekend.
Also, Dance For Destruction is finishing up their record as well, due out on Lorelei whereas Melotov will be releasing the vinyl. They put on a great live show; I came across D4D at an American Legion Hall show last summer and they tore the place up. You'd think adding keyboards and a girl front(wo)man would give the band a poppier, mainstream friendly sound (that was my first bias), but they really do keep it grounded in punk. It's not keys and vocals like Paramore, it's straight up electro punx hardcore. Fun to dance or mosh or scream along to. I wish I could catch more of their shows, if only Sacramento weren't 9 hours from Santa Clarita.
AND we (the label) will be having shirts made very soon. It's going to be a small pressing of 100 so they'll definitely be up for grabs. The shirts are all printed on sweatshop-free shirts and the design comes from Dylan Smith up in good ol' Penn State (former vocalist of Broken Hands, and straight-edge vegan activist with an eye for modern art). I'll post pictures soon.
Keep your eyes 'n ears peeled for more news! And be sure to check out melotovrecords.com when it launches at the end of this month!
And remember, altintel.blogspot.com is a great source of information as well, we'll be working with them very closely.
Keep supporting all that is independent and underground!
