Twit on this Tweet, You Twats

Yep, rumors are true. We put up a Twitter so that when you don't feel like reading a blog (or I don't feel like posting an in depth update, which is hardly ever seeing as I am a fairly eloquent bitch) you can check out our 160-characters-or-less twits...or tweets (?)

Melotov Records Twitter!
http://twitter.com/melotovrecords

Also, I can't wait for Sound and Fury on Sunday! If you're going, be sure to pick up the S&F special edition of Touche Amore's debut LP on 6131 Records. And be sure to check out Red, White, and Blue Tattoo. They'll be doing tats all Sound and Fury Weekend. I will be getting one on Sunday, so I'll throw pics of that up on here, the Twitter, the myspace, etc.

Even though I hopped on the band wagon for promotion purposes, I still feel like a conforming idiot for doing so. Does anyone feel that social networking has gotten a little too social? It's all internet social, not personal. So get off your lazy asses, go to Sound and Fury (or some other show) and make some friends. I say bring back the days of tape-trading.

Hot damn,

Melanie V

The Greatest Comeback since Michael Jackson

Vinyl.

Read it and reap (the benefits):
http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/20947918/vinyl_returns_in_the_age_of_mp3

The comments at the end of the article are interesting too. If you're not just a music fan, but a music buff, you gotta dig the vinyl.

And mad respect for Michael Jackson, so please don't think I'm trying to make some cheap-shot joke.

Queue Jefferson's Theme Song: "Movin' on Up"

Hello neglected blog-followers (all what... six of you?) it's been a few weeks since my last post, so here's one with some important updates.

First and foremost, an e-store has finally been set up. It's not my official one (the one that was supposed to be done in April, but keeps being pushed back; there have been some issues that need to be resolved with that...). This one will definitely get the job done, it's temporary, but it still makes the music available to you. You can check out our merch for now here at the Melotov Records E-store

Dance For Destruction's 12" LP "When Color Was Real" (MLTVR003) is one sweet sounding piece of wax. There is a limited run of 100 sky blue vinyl and 400 black vinyl. Orders come with free test presses while supplies last. Their CD is out on Lorlei Records and they'll be touring soon, so be sure to catch a show and pick up a copy! You'll save on shipping! Also, Charged's S/T is now on sale exclusively at our merch store. Only $3!

Just got the Cathedrals/Bleeding Kansas test presses as well and they sound fucking awesome. We're going with Erika Records for this one, and working with them has been a great experience! The whole crew has been professional and has kept my best interests in mind, giving me multiple quotes and a very hands-on experience (like allowing me to come down to the plant to talk shop). http://erikarecords.com/ Check them out!

Bleeding Kansas has a show with fellow label mates Deadhead (whose 10" we'll be putting out hopefully in the October/November months). Show is gonna rule, here's the flyer:

Scoring some distro deals with international stuff too, and keep an eye out for shows. We're attempting to book a helluva lot of them. If you're interested in putting on a show, playing a show, or promoting a show, give me a call and we'll talk. All contact info is on out myspace http://myspace.com/melotovrecords

Keep supporting all that is independent and underground!!!
