SOUND AND FURY, New Bands, New Tunes, etc

DEADHEAD will be playing on Friday's line up for SOUND & FURY 2010 and we'll be there all three days with a merch booth, so you really don't want to miss out on this. You can get your passes here (do it, they're going quick)! We'll be carrying all of our vinyl releases and doing distro for our friends at Vitriol Records, Mayfly Records, and Radical Friends.

S&F 2010 Melotov Merch:
- MLVTR003 Dance for Destruction "When Color was Real" 12"
- MLTVR004 Cathedrals/Bleeding Kansas s/t split 12"
- MLTVR005 Calculator "These Roots Grow Deep" 12"
- MLTVR006 Deadhead s/t 10"

S&F 2010 Distro:
- Dangers "Anger" repress 12" (Vitriol)
- Dangers "Messy, Isn't It" 12" (Vitriol)
- Ghostlimb "Bearing and Distance" (Vitriol)
- Comadre/Glasses split 2x7" (Vitrol)
- Cathedrals/Deadhead s/t split 7" (Mayfly)
- Former Thieves "Great and Alleged Great" EP (Mayfly)
- The Kingsford Run "Human Traffic" 7" (Radical Friends)

And of course, all of the above will be available on our e-store, but after Sound and Fury, so come hang out (and save on shipping)!

If you can't make the trek to Santa Barbara for Sound and Fury, be sure to catch CALCULATOR on their summer tour across the midwest and east coast. These guys put on a killer show and have worked incredibly hard to promote the new record, so please go show them your support. You can pick up the colored or black vinyl on our e-store. Each record comes with a screened CD, poster, and 20 page booklet. All the tour dates are on our myspace and Calculator's myspace, so check it out there, but here's a flyer of which cities they'll be in:

And if you can't make it to either, be sure to spend your worthless, isolated summer basking in the comfort of solidarity and musical bliss by listening to the new tracks on our myspace. VERSIONS is an amazingly heavy breather, resist-y band from Oakland who are going to be releasing a 7" through us (MLTVR007) within the next couple of months. They're making their own jackets and artwork for that added DIY feel, but don't let that distract you from the intensity of the tracks. Listen to "Lizard" on our myspace and you'll see what I mean. Shit's dope.

Other than those brief, but major, updates, things have been swell here down at the Melotov farm. Deadhead test presses were approved two weeks ago and will be out soon. I'll throw up a pre-order in the days to come. Expect a ton of shows as well, in addition to the Calculator tour and Sound and Fury dates. Please, please, please come out to S&F this year, it'd mean a lot! Until next time...

"The weight of our weakness, is dragging us down..."

As I write this, I'm currently listening to the mixed 10" for DEADHEAD. This record is sinister, and is heavier than I could have imagined. It's been fun working with all of those dudes and Alex at Earth Capital. I can't wait to get this released and out into your hands. It's too good NOT to have. I am just so damn stoked!

Also, CALCULATOR test-presses shipped today. Thank you for your patience in this. It's been a slow-as-molasses process, but it'll definitely be worth it. 250 black swirl (pre order and tour) and 250 black, poster, lyric booklet, and Ramez, Calc's guitarist, is slangin' CDs of the record. You can find the download for the 12" on their myspace, but if you like it, please buy it so I can continue to do my thing here.

And BENOIT has finished recording everything for their 7". No particular release date on that, but that too sounds brutal and unforgiving. I'll post updates as I get them. This is another record I'm itching to release.

And if you are considering anything recording, mixing, or mastering related, go through Alex Estrada of Earth Capital Studios. He works quickly, with unbeatable pricing, and is one cool vegan dude.

And in the mean time, don't miss this:
SATURDAY FEB. 27TH BENOIT w/ Graf Orlock.

I'll throw some new DH traxxx up on the Melotov Myspace within in the next few days, so keep checking that.

For Streamin' Fiends & Honest Friends

The good folks over at Hellfish are carrying the CAT/BK 12" split, so be sure to head on over and pick up a copy! Hellfish Family

And for those who couldn't care less about a nice looking, better sounding, vinyl record, Melotov is currently setting up a Bandcamp with download codes for the Cathedrals/Bleeding Kansas split and future vinyl releases.

Either way, please help me to continue to help bands and check out those sites today!
Or you could always "buy direct" courtesy of our e-store.

And for less propaganda and more useless bullshit, there is a Melotov Records Twitter. Hate on it!

CALCULATOR - These Roots Grow Deep Pre-Orders

I have to say that Calculator has been one of the most fun bands to work with. They are dedicated dudes who just love making music and doing what they're doing. Definitely fun, and I'd definitely work with them for future releases.

That being said, pre-order their 12" discography + exclusive unreleased tracks here:
http://olhardevidrorecords.bigcartel.com
And check out the venue that these dudes help run, Hyde Park Half. There will be a ton of shows coming up at this place, so keep your ears peeled and your eyes wide.

Also, we like having our music incredibly accessible (even at the risk of streaming and downloading), but if you like it, you'll buy it. So please continue to support these bands and Melotov Records. Help us help bands.

Listen to us here:

CAT/BK here INCREDIBLY soon!
